Local Advocacy - Emails
Important Note
The emails that we have posted were received by people in our community.
They have been forwarded to us to help us in our efforts to keep everyone
informed. We feel that it is important for the community and the voter
to know as much as possible about the candidates they are voting for so that
an informed and educated decision can be made. The D15CP is a grass roots
organization of parents in the community who believe that information is key
to making any decision. Our special interest group is our children.
They come first.
Background
Around the same time the
D15CP formed,
another group called the Northwest Coalition for Quality Education was
formed. The
NWCQE is a political action committee. According to their website, their
mission is "to establish a permanent, independent organization whose
purpose is to endorse and support District 15 and District 211 school board
candidates who will: Promote a quality education for all students,
promote fiscal responsibility, and treat teachers, administrators and
staff with the highest degree of professionalism and respect."
Mr. Eugene Flynn is one of the founding members of the NWCQE and he has
spoken many times during the Citizens Address the Board section of the Board
Meetings. (most recently on Feb 14, 2007) For detailed meeting minutes,

We believe that based on the emails we have received, this organization is
not independent
at all. We know that the NWCQE is backed and supported by the
CTC or the Classroom Teachers Council leadership.
We believe that based on these emails, the NWCQE is all about "attacking"
the current board rather than working with it in the best interests of our
children and the district as a whole. This strategy will only bog down
the board with issues that do not pertain to our children or their education
and will ultimately negatively affect our great district.
We further believe that based on the
dates of the emails, the NWCQE and the CTC not only selected the three gentlemen
candidates, but had already unofficially endorsed these
candidates BEFORE any candidate had filed their petition papers and
announced their candidacy to the public. To view some of these emails,
